reading such pieces bring me so much joy. I've said it before, I'll say it again, your style of writing about the smallest of the things, and setting up the scene for readers to vividly imagine, is literally my favourite part of your articles.
thank you so much Tanvi, I was writing the second part to this probably the day you made this comment and didn't go through but taking this as the sign to complete it
I felt like I was travelling with you to work, loved how well crafted this piece is. Half way through I was inspired enough to write a piece about my commute as well :)) hopefully I'll tag you soon and continue the chain
that makes me happy, please yess do write it i would love to read it. another person who continued the chain was december im unable to tag but you should read. also thankyou!
Oh no it wasn’t fiction at all, I was kidding about that at the end. it did come from my journal btw so yes, so glad you relate to it too. also you’re the first person to make a comment on my substack ever. thank you for reading!

Wow. This has become a chain. (I just read the last para where you said you were inspired by someone else's commute story to write this)
And I was halfway reading yours and it made we want to write mine too. I just posted it; I tagged you too in the post but it didn't work in mobile.
It resonates with me so much when you said you didn't feel bad about your commute while hearing the pity statements.
i hope it continues, never thought i’d be in one it’s so sweet. thank you! im glad it led to you sharing yours as well it was a great read :)
Was about to comment "if you liked commuting so much, come office every day" until I read the last part, but JK, good one
haha thankuu
